Motel Exterior Features

Pavillion

Behind the bus in the backyard, you’ll find the Pavillion. This is arguably one of the most comfortable places to sit outside. We sometimes have live music performances in this area. Its a great place for a picnic or to get some work done (the WiFi is strong).

Picnic Tables and Swings

Thank goodness the Stavley family, who owned the motel in the mid-70s and 80s had the foresight to plant an oak tree on the property. It’s a great climbing tree and provides shade enough to cover two new picnic tables. You can find groups of people enjoying the weather, scenery, and oak tree on any given night.

Solar Panels

The solar panels were installed during the first year of ownership and are offsetting one-third of our energy consumption.

Custom Benches

The chairs outside each room were ok, but they sure did scratch up the walls. Solution: custom benches. These sleek wood and metal benches are a great place to sit and relax at just outside your door. The best view is when the train rolls through town.

The Desert House

We are in the process of wrapping up the renovation of the Desert House. This accommodation will be available to reserve around the Fall of 2023. It will be perfect for a family with the multiple bedrooms, kitchen, dining and living rooms.

Also, it will have it’s own private cowboy tub outside as well as a large picnic table under the back porch.

The Backyard

The big backyard plan! The motel came with a school bus on the property. It is currently being renovated and will be the star feature in the backyard which will eventually be a gathering place for guests.

Room 117

Room 117 is undergoing some additional improvements that will make it extra special. Along with interior updates, this room has an attached patio with a table, cowboy tub, and metal dinosaur. This will be the ultimate stay!
